If an opportunity to get what you've always wanted came tomorrow, would you be ready for it? The first question to answer here is would you even recognize it as an opportunity to get what you've always wanted. In order to recognize it in the first place, you must be very clear about what it is that you want. Many of us haven't even got that far. We are not at all clear about our mission in life, our life's purpose, our values. We spend so much time reacting to what's going on right now that we have never really thought about it.

In order to recognize an opportunity, once you are clear on your goals, you must be able to see how it could help you get closer to those goals. This means you must have done some thinking about possible courses of action that might lead you towards your goals. You must have a rough understanding of what is required of you in order to move forward.

Finally, in order to be able to take advantage of an opportunity once you indeed recognize it as such, you must have done some prior preparation. You must have made, or saved up, the money you'll need, or gone through the information you need to know, or saved up some time to spend on this project.
