Attitude of Gratitude

"If you look at what you have in life, you'll always have more. If you look at what you don't have in life, you'll never have enough." Oprah Winfrey

It comes down to what your focus is. What you focus on, comes to you. If you focus on, acknowledge, and appreciate all the good things in your life, then you will just get more good things to acknowledge and appreciate. If, however, you focus on all the things you don't have, then there will be even more things that you don't have.

The important thing here is to focus on the good things in YOUR life. So often we see good things in other people's life and decide that's what we want. The problem arises because we then feel jealosy. We feel like "Why do they have it when I can't get it for myself? It's not fair!". Jealosy, like anger, is always easy to justify in the moment. At that point, however, you are focusing on what you don't have; you beleive and expect that you will never have it, and so you will continue to never have it. Unfortunately, jealosy comes from thoughts of "I can't get what I want" which makes you into a powerless victim of circumstance. When you really understand that you can create anything that you want in your life, jealosy becomes a thing of the past.
