"The road to happiness lies in two simple principles: find what it is that interests you and that you can do well, and when you find it put your whole soul into it - every bit of energy and ambition and natural ability you have."
John D. Rockefeller
This road to happiness is also the road to success. I beleive that the biggest task of growing up is to determine what it is that interests you and that you can do well. I think some people never really find that out. They may find some things that interest them, or some things that they can do well, but not the one most interesting thing that they can do best. The one thing that they are willing to put all their energy and ambition into. That may be one reason why so many people don't stay with the same career their whole lives.
If you want to be happy, you need to have something that you can dedicate yourself completely too. Many people volunteer for organizations that have almost no hope of making any real change, but these people are happy because they are doing everything they can to support the cause that they beleive in. They're happy even when they know they probably won't be successful. Their passion for what they do is a kind of success in itself, and it is all they really need.
Do you know the one thing that you are most interested in and can do best? Think about it. Then, once you are sure you know what that is, strive to do it as well as possible. Put all your energy and ambition; your strengths and natural talents into it. Then enjoy a success and happiness you haven't seen before.
