Promises

"The man who promises everything is sure to fulfill nothing"
Carl Jung

Do you try to satisfy the wants of everyone around you? If you do, you will know how difficult that is. Everyone always wants something different from you and has different expectations of you. They all see you in different ways. We have some idea that we should be able to please everyone around us by doing whatever they ask of us. But you can't help everyone. You can't be all things to all people. You can't be someone you're not. You can only be yourself.

It is much more productive to focus on the unique strengths that you were created with, and ask yourself how can you use those strengths most efficiently to help the most people. By focusing on only a few things, you can improve your performance immensely because you can devote more time and energy on each of them. If you try to do everything anyone wants of you, then the amount of time and energy you can spend on any one of them will be inadequate for doing a satisfactory job.
